A Biscayne Boulevard Landmark Since 1966

Jimmy’s East Side Diner has been a permanent fixture of Miami’s Upper East Side since 1966. While many historic landmarks across the city have been replaced by high-rises and modern developments, Jimmy’s remains a preserved piece of the 1960s. Our diner is a cornerstone of the MiMo Historic District, an area celebrated for its playful post-war architecture and neon signage. Walking through our doors is like stepping into a time capsule; the stainless steel trim, the original U-shaped counter, and the rhythmic sound of the griddle offer a sensory experience that connects the modern Miami of today with the nostalgic charm of the past.

From Neighborhood Secret to Cinema History

From Neighborhood Secret to Cinema History

For decades, we were the best-kept secret of Biscayne Boulevard, serving as a reliable morning retreat for locals, tradespeople, and community leaders. That local legacy took on a global dimension when director Barry Jenkins chose our dining room as the setting for the final, emotional chapter of the film Moonlight. Since then, we have welcomed visitors from across the world who come to sit in the now-famous "Moonlight booth" to experience the same atmosphere captured on screen. Despite this international fame, we have never lost our identity as a humble neighborhood greasy spoon. We continue to prioritize our regulars and our roots, ensuring that the spirit of authentic Miami hospitality is served with every bottomless cup of coffee.
